Portrait Tote

We designed our Portrait Tote for bopping around the city. The sturdy yet soft 12 oz. denim twill withstands everyday use, and the exterior and interior pockets offer plenty of storage. We fully lined the tote with some of our deadstock cotton fabrics for a clean finish and used a cotton taffeta tape that feels luxurious in your hands.

The Portrait Tote is entirely dyed and made to order in studio. You pick the color, and we'll get busy dyeing the panels/lining and sewing up your tote in studio. As this is a made-to-order product, returns are only for store credit (and not to the original form of payment).

Note that slight variations in color may occur among dye lots and are attendant to the natural dye process.

- self: 100% cotton bull denim 3x1 twill (12 oz.)

- inner pocket: 100% cotton twill (7 oz.)

- lining: depending on availability, either (i) 100% cotton double cloth or (ii) 100% cotton sateen

- straps: 100% cotton taffeta ribbon

- for color options with iron listed, an after bath of either (i) ferrous acetate or (ii) ferrous sulfate

- except for (i) indigo and (ii) gallnut + pot. perm., mordanted with oak gall tannin extract and aluminum acetate

- machine wash cold with like colors on a gentle cycle / tumble dry low / iron low as needed

- do not bleach

- unevenness in dye uptake and gradations of hues are beautiful, distinctive, and intrinsic to the natural dye process

- naturally dyed clothing may transfer color before the first wash or two; until then, avoid contact with light colored objects and surfaces
